Rev. Mark Williams, Pastor
Our Pastor is Rev. Mark Williams. Mark is a native of Shelbyville, Kentucky. He earned a baseball scholarship to Oakland City University in Indiana where he attended for 2 years. While at Oakland City he received his calling to preach. In 2006, Mark graduated from Boyce College, a school of The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He is currently working on his Master of Divinity degree at Southern Seminary.
From 2003-2005, Mark served as the Youth Minister of Bagdad Baptist Church in Bagdad, Kentucky. He served as an Evangelist from 2004-2006. He also led ministries at First Baptist Church in Shelbyville, Kentucky.
He was called as Pastor of Hawesville Baptist Church in August 2006.Mark resides in Hawesville, Kentucky with his beautiful wife Jessica and their daughter Madelyn, who was born in March 2009. Rev. Matt Pinkston, Minister of Students
Our minister of students is Rev. Matt Pinkston. Matt was born and raised in Henderson, KY. He graduated from the University of Evansville in 1997 with a degree in electrical engineering & worked as an engineer for 6 years. During this time, however, Matt was actively involved as a leader in the student ministries at Zion Baptist Church. He was a sponsor on youth trips and taught middle school Sunday school at Zion for 10 years. In 2003, Matt surrendered to full time student ministry.
Matt served as the interim minister of students at Zion Baptist Church from 2003-2004 and stayed on as a volunteer at Zion until 2007. During this time, he started his masters work at the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary and in December 2006 he received his Master of Arts in Christian Education degree. Matt was called to be the full time student minister of Hawesville Baptist Church in March of 2007.
Matt has worked with students for over 10 years - teaching Sunday school, leading youth worship, helping at youth retreats, and leading discipleship groups. He currently resides in Cannelton, IN. You can contact Matt via email at matt@hawesvillebaptist.com.
Rev. Dennis C. Cook, Minister of Music
Our full-time Minister of Music is Rev. Dennis C. Cook. Dennis grew up in Beaver Dam KY, and received his calling to ministry while at Beaver Dam Baptist Church. In 2001, Dennis graduated from Kentucky Wesleyan College, in Owensboro, KY, with a Bachelor of Music degree. In 2007, he earned a Master of Music degree from Campbellsville University in Campbellsville, KY. Dennis has served at FBC Evansville, IN, Stithton Baptist Church in Radcliff, KY, and Hawesville Baptist since July of 2007. He was ordained into the Gospel Ministry in July of 2008 at Hawesville Baptist Church.
Over thirteen years of being in the music ministry, Dennis has been fortunate to sing in many great ensembles, groups, and choirs such as: mass sacred choir functions, The Crossmen Quartet, Owensboro Symphony Chorus events, collegiate choirs, and conferences with the Kentucky Baptist Men’s Chorale and the Southern Baptist Church Music Conference. Dennis has conducted large community events with choir and orchestra as well.
